End of August we were able to go back to the States for a visit. I had really been missing me some America lately and, well, it just worked out that we got to go. (we have an amazing family that totally helped us) The trip over was LOOOOONG. Can I just say that again? The trip over was LOOOOONG! Traveling with 4 kids ranging in ages from 22months – 5yrs is a post I’ll have to write about another day when I have some extra time bc I have got loads of tips for you all. You know, I now think about back in the day when I was freaking out about traveling with just 1 kid on a plane….HA…that’s a breeze.
So yeah, back to the trip. It was freaking. AH-MAZE-ING. It wasn’t enough time. If we end up staying in England longer 2 weeks is NOT enough time. I definitely need at least like 4 weeks to feel like I really have been able to relax, enjoy myself and just BE with my family. The boys got to do a TON of stuff: 2 zoos, splash parks, ice cream shops, amusement park, their first baseball game and loads more. They got to hang out with their cousins FINALLY!!!! It was just awesome.
The hubs and I even got to sneak away on a little ‘side-vaca’ with another couple. We left those rotten kids behind and said HELLO FLORIDA! We rented a house that had it’s own pool (hubs does an amazing job at finding rentals, I swear he missed his calling as a travel agent), it backed up to the canals and it was just a block from the beach. SCORE! We all got burnt to a crisp but it was totally worth it….well mostly…hubs got burned pretty darn bad and was in some serious pain. BUT all in all, it was another Holston-Parrott vacation for the win! Love this guy so much.
This Vitalized Immunity – freaking awesome. I drank at least one of these every.single.time I got on a plane! We had 8 plane rides in 16 days!
When our trip came to an end, I was heart broken. I was holding back the flood gates as we loaded up the car for the airport and warned my Mom not to cry or I’d lose it. Then of course my mother in law started crying when saying goodbye and I immediately told her she had to stop or I was going to join her! My kiddos didn’t need to see me crying, that’s for sure. We said our goodbyes, my heart was heavy, but we knew we had to come back to our home in England and get our dog.
We’re back in routine again and I love that aspect of it. The boys are in school and bible study is starting up, but America still whispers in the back of my head.
