Can I just go in for the kill and start with this image?!!
I mean considering it hasn’t even been a year since I’ve had the twins & life is a bit crazy with 4 kids in 4 years! I’d call this whole Shaklee journey a HUGE success! My original goal was to get down to a size 4/6 & although I haven’t hit the size 4 yet, I do vary between a 6/8 depending on the pants. I’ll share my last month’s stats & pictures but I just want to say that Shaklee has truly helped me realize that getting healthy isn’t about a crash diet & losing it all quickly. Shaklee teaches you to change your lifestyle. Changing the way you view food. To view it not as an escape or something you can indulge in all the time bc you ‘feel like it’ but to realize that food is here to maintain your health & to give your body the energy it needs to perform your daily living.
As for this past month. I have included more Paleo meals in my diet. I had a “cheat” day and I PAYED for it. My body is so used to eating healthy, whole foods that when I introduced a home made pizza loaded with cheese & made with white flour my stomach exploded! Seriously. I had horrible stomach pains & man alive was I bloated! Does that mean I’ll give up my pizza?? Nope! I am a realist & I know I’ll still have my cheat days, I’ll just always regret it afterwards. Maybe next time I’ll just stick with the cauliflower crust instead.
I’m running about 2 times a week and doing crossfit 2 times a week. I’m trying to get out for morning walks with the kids at least twice a week as well. Starting here in a few weeks I’ll be walking at least 3 miles a day taking the kids to & from school – so that’s nice! A little morning workout without even having to try.
I’m finally at a place where working out isn’t HARD…..unless I don’t do it for more than 2 days & then it’s hard again. (hard meaning getting the motivation to actually DO it, because the workouts are always hard – but feel oh-so-good afterwards) I’m pretty sure if you get in a good routine of working out, only give yourself a day to recoup because if you go longer than that it’s like starting all over again. That my friends is NO fun.
Here are my comparisons from last month to this month:
Bust: July 35” – Aug. 34.5”
Waist: July 30” – Aug. 29.5”
Hips: July 36” – Aug. 35.5”
Arms: July 13” – Aug. 13”
Total inches lost in June: 1.5”
Total inches in the program: 12”
I know there’s not a huge difference, but I think at this point in my weight loss journey it’s not going to be as drastic. Now I just have to continue what I’ve been doing & watch it slowly come off. This is another reason why I am ALWAYS encouraging people who are starting a weight loss journey to MEASURE & TAKE PICTURES!! I can not stress this enough! If you are like me, you don’t lose the weight crazy fast like some people. It comes off VERY slowly, but you can SEE the results of the hard work in the numbers of inches & pictures.
Growing up & always heard the saying, “muscle weighs more than fat” but I never really “got it” until now….at 31 yrs old.
So “What Now?” –
Well, I’ve made the decision to stay with the Shaklee as a distributor. I have been researching everything about it & I truly love their standards & their products. They truly do support every aspect of having a healthy lifestyle. Not just with weight, but with your overall health in your body & home.
I have also decided that this weight loss journey isn’t really a weight loss journey at all. This journey is a life journey. So cheesy but totally true. I am making choices in our foods that works for the entire family. Yes, I still have some processed foods in our house, but it’s not the ONLY food in our home. My choices are being viewed by my very impressionable kids, as you could see in my work out video I posted last week.
And lastly, I want to support YOU. If you are thinking of starting your own life journey I’d love to help you! Let me be your cheerleader, encouraging you & giving you tips throughout the way. Just contact me & let me know how I can help!
Thank you again for all your support. I’ll be continuing to post my journey whether it’s with losing more or maintaining my weight!
This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program.
I have received free products, online support, and incentives for participating.
My opinions are my own. I am also a Shaklee Distributor.
People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.
