Before kids I was a type A personality.
Everything had a specific place in the house.
My hair & make up had to be done in order for me to go outside (even if it was to just take the trash out).
I had a certain routine that I went by on a day-to-day basis.
Life got messy, busy & started going by far too fast.
I remember that 1st year of being a Mom. Talk about a major life change!!! I mean, having the twins through me through a loop, but nothing like the first year of motherhood. You are no longer just taking care of yourself & hubby – now you have this little human that wants/needs everything from you even when you sometimes don’t want to give it!
Now here I am, 4 years later, and a Momma to 4. It’s kinda crazy to think I thought I was “so busy” with just one, but I am here to say – any amount of kid is tough, whether it’s 1 or 6!
In this season of life I have really been trying to live life. I know that the girls are our last little babies so I’m trying to cherish these moments with our kiddos while they are young. So, today I got all the kids out the door, along with our Lilly girl (that’s our 1st baby) and headed out to walk Cohen to school.
I am pretty sure I got some crazy looks, pushing twins in the double stroller, 2 toddlers running behind me with a dog trotting along side of me. I didn’t even care. I dropped Cohen off at his class & the rest of the kids and I headed out for a nice walk. We walked through our village to the fields so Lucas could see the sheep. This is the girls normal morning nap time, so they were snoozing away.
Lucas and I snapped a few pictures together (although he is not a fan of the camera these days) and then we walked home.
I may have taken an hour out of my busy day to enjoy the sunshine with 3 of my kids, and I may have been frustrated this evening when I had work that I still hadn’t gotten done because of it – but in the end – I’m glad I did it. The work eventually got done & my kids got me time before anything else.
How are you living life?
