While I was in the shower the other day (because I only shower every 2 days as of lately) I thought to myself, ‘I wonder if people knew that I had a very specific shower routine, that they’d think I was weird?’. So….I’m going to share with you some of my “cool” traits / habits. I know, you’re so excited to read about this instead of my baby updates. ha ha.
I’m-so-cool habit / trait #1:
I have a very specific shower routine (as stated previously).
It goes like this: Open shower & turn on water, brush teeth until shower is warm, get in shower & immediately wet hair and body, wash hair & get it super sudsy, rinse hair, wash face, get body wash & lather up, shave under arms, rinse body, (before pregnancy this is also when i’d shave my legs…not such an occurrence these days) grab conditioner and put on roots – then mid section – the lastly run fingers through hair and rinse, rinse body all over again, rinse hair again, turn off water, ring hair out about 4 times, wipe off water with hands, reach through shower door & grab a towel, close the door & dry off in the shower.
I even dry myself off the same way every.single.time…..
face – shoulders – arms – chest – belly – legs – arms again – back – butt – flip hair over & wrap in towel.
I’m a winner.
I’m-so-cool habit / trait #2:
I’m a picker. (no, not nose picker)
No really. This is probably going to gross SO many of you out – but whatever – it’s all good. If I find a zit / ingrown hair on me / my husband – I’m all over that. I even have tools. I have the blackhead tool & a 10x mirror. Oh yeah. It’s amazing what you can see on your face with that thing! But darn this pregnancy, my skin hasn’t been bad at all & I haven’t seen anything on my husband in so long – I may be going through withdrawl.
I’m-so-cool habit / trait #3:
I don’t realize I’m stressed until it effects me physically.
I’m not sure why I am this way. Maybe because I try to stay positive and know that everything will be fine. Or maybe I think my complaining/venting about something helps release the stress?! Either way, I can always tell I’m stressed when my upper back starts to KILL me & I get headaches. Never fails. I remember I was so stressed in college during student teaching I actually had my very first migraine. I thought I was going to DIE! Sometimes our bodies know best, especially when it’s time to SLOW down & relax.
I’m-so-cool habit / trait #4:
I load the dishwasher the same way every time.
I do. Certain plates go in a certain spot bc I know it cleans best that way – bowls only have a few places I put them, silverware always goes with the part you eat on facing up unless they are in my long IKEA spoons / knives and they face downward. Sippy cups go on the top-right rack while the glasses/mugs go on the top-left rack…..
You get the idea.
I’m-so-cool habit / trait #5:
I run my mouth too much.
It’s the God’s honest truth. Sometimes I’ll be out with people and I’ll be jabbering away, come home and realize – why the heck did I even need to say that?!! Occasionally it’s gossip but most of the time it’s just me spouting off about whatever opinion I have at the time. Goodness my poor husband. When he’s out with me and I’m doing it, he’ll usually shoot me a look to simmer me down – I typically get offended at him but then later thank him for doing it. 🙂
So there ya have it.
PS. This is by far the best package I think I have ever received in the mail…..post-delivery pads, mesh undies & cold packs! Heck yes – thank you Annie & thank you American Hospitals!
