Last night while having pillow talk with the hubs, our conversation went a little like this:
me: “Do you think God shares things with kids that He doesn’t share with us?”
hubs: “What do you mean?”
me: “You know, how when I ask Cohen if the baby is a boy or girl – he always says girl. Or when I say is it a baby brother or baby sister – he always says baby sister. Or how he started praying for one of our good friends recently for no reason, but we know the reason.”
hubs: “Yeah, I don’t see why not.”
Here’s the thing. We say our prayers most nights with Cohen, but this past week we’ve been saying them every night. They usually go along the lines of thanking God for our day, and the things we did together, then we move on and thank Jesus for our family members one by one. Well about 5 days ago Cohen started praying for a friend of ours. Seriously. Out – of – the – blue. I mean, we both just kinda looked at each other and were like, “WHAT?!” But we just let it go and thought it was cute. Every day since then he has prayed for this friend of ours & I realized why he must be praying for this person. Cohen doesn’t KNOW why He is praying for them, but something is nudging his little heart to do it.
Who am I to say that it’s not God?! I believe with my whole soul that God placed it on Cohen’s heart to pray for this friend. Why else would he randomly pray for this person – someone we barely talk about in front of him and someone that he doesn’t have any or little contact with?!
Well, I’ll have you know that Cohen’s prayer has been answered. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE. I have goose bumps just typing this. He has been praying for this person, and we know why & it has been answered!!!!! There is NO doubt in my mind now that God speaks to our children, no matter how old. Cohen may only be 35 months old, but He can obviously feel the presence of our Lord.
What do you think? Do you think God speaks to our children, no matter the age?
