I’m guest posting over at And Here’s to You, Mrs. Robinson’s blog. I’m talkin’ marriage in the military, so head on over AFTER you’ve ready about the fabulous Bri & entered her give away!
Hi, my name is Bri. I am a grateful stay-at-home momma of two, wife, blogger, graphic designer, etsy shop owner, and hobbyist photographer. I am passionate about inspiring all women to find their inner photojournalist and strive to document their lives, both the big moments and the small, through photography. My blog is a journal of my life in photos. I also like to throw in some things I’m learning along the way….. about motherhood, faith and design. I would love for you to stop over and say hello!
Bri, how did you get started with mod memento?
After my daughter was born, I had quit my full time job as an Online Marketing Manager and wanted a way to stay connected to my roots in the business world as well as be an outlet for my graphic design aspirations. I started designing art prints for my friends just for fun and then decided to take the plunge and open my own shop. It satisfies both my love of entreprenuership as well as my love of design.
How did you come up with the name, “Mod Memento?”
The word “Mod” describes the design aesthetic that I love and “Memento” describes what I consider my art prints to be in your home or nursery. I love the idea of creating a modern memento to hang proudly in your home and remind you of something (or someone) that you love. The two words just fit nicely together so I went with it!
What is your favorite bible verse, or a quote that has really been on your heart recently?
This verse from James has been on my heart lately because it challenges me to be a doer of my faith and not just a talker.
“Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.” - James 1: 22-24 translated by The Message
What is your most cherished Christmas memory?
It would definitely be our family Christmas tree each year. It was gloriously hideous! We would trek out to the Christmas tree farm and my Dad would saw down the “perfect tree”. Then we would drag it home and decorate it with the craziest ornaments, mostly old handmade ones that were falling apart because my sisters and I had made them in preschool. Then we would cover that baby in lights!…white lights, colored lights, colored BLINKING lights. You name it. We all joked how ugly the tree was after we were all done but how much we loved it anyway. 🙂
I can’t even begin to describe how much I adore Bri. We have just recently started to get to know each other and she has a heart that is so pure and full of gold. She has GREAT taste in music and is a wonderful Momma. She is so very talented & is offering you lovely readers a chance to win one of her prints! I know, you are in love with her too now aren’t you?! I would love it if you stopped by her blog, Mod Memento, and see what she’s all about.
